Hill
Crest
Farm,
established
in
1997, has been built
by Jeff and Anita Cox
from a lifelong shared
interest in and
passion for working
with horses.
With Jeff and Anita's
hard work and
dedication, HCF has
grown into a
successful and
enjoyable family
equine business.
For eleven years the
farm operated as a
training, boarding,
and show facility also
offering foaling,
lessons, clinics, and
hauling as well as a
variety of other
equine
activities. In
the past few years,
Jeff and Anita have
directed the
facility's focus
toward the breeding of
Appaloosas, as well.
Jeff has a strong
equine background with
16+ years experience
handling, riding, and
training a variety of
breeds and
disciplines.
Jeff also has
experience in the
breeding area of the
industry, providing
foaling services at
the farm and foaling
out HCF mares.
He has been no
stranger to the show
ring with 15+ years of
showing on a local,
regional, and national
level. He has
also assisted many
people in finding the
right equines for
clients and has placed
many horses with their
current owners.
Jeff has served as
adjunct instructor for
the equine portion of
the Introduction to
Animal and Poultry
Science lab at
Virginia Tech, and he
has volunteered as a
mentor and a leader in
the equine industry
and its organizations.

Anita, also, has a
strong equine
background that
includes many years of
education, handling,
riding, training, and
developing skills. She
holds a BS degree in
Animal and Poultry
Science from Virginia
Tech with Equine
emphasis. Anita
went on to earn her
Doctor of Pharmacy
degree and works as a
full time
Pharmacist.
Horses are her passion
and number one hobby
aside from activities
with their son,
working very hard to
maintain a balance of
family, work, and
horses. Anita
has also shown horses
for 15+ years on a
local, regional, and
national level.
As well as being
actively engaged in
the equine industry,
both Jeff and Anita
also enjoy trail
riding.
Once Jeff and Anita's
son was born in
October 2008, the
family decided to
pause offering HCF's
established services
to clients in order to
allow Jeff to be a
full time stay at home
father. While
these services were
not being offered,
HCF’s directed more of
its focus toward the
breeding, raising,
training, showing and
marketing of their own
horses.

Through careful
selection and
breeding, HCF will
produce and market
young horses that
possess the
characteristics
desired by the farm:
correct conformation,
healthy mind as well
as body, ability to
perform, pleasant
disposition,
trainability, correct
gait, genetic
soundness, and
beauty. The
family will continue
showing and will
provide the show ring
opportunity for their
son if interest is
apparent. The
breed of choice for
Hill Crest Farm is the
Appaloosa horse with
the spotlight on the
desired breed
standards.
The Cox family plans
to remain strong in
the horse industry and
will strive for
growth, development
and advancement of
their business.
Along with looking
forward to their 2012
foal, Jeff is again
accepting Horses for
Training and is
offering House Calls
and Clinics.
