Hill
Crest Farm was established in 1997 as a part-time
operation by owners Jeff and Anita Cox. The farm is the product
of a
lifelong interest and has grown to become a full time operation.
Jeff trains all types and levels of horses from halter breaking and
gentling
all the way to shows and exhibits. He specializes in starting
young
horses but also believes that no horse is too old to learn.
During
the initial years of the business, the emphasis was basically
training trail horses, but as Hill Crest Farm has progressed our horses
have been
shown
locally with much success. Anita now shows Hill Crest Farm
horses, and Jeff shows horses that belong to our customers.
Events in which Hill Crest Farm participates include halter, longe
line, dressage, jumping, and various western
events. Jeff still trains trail horses and always incorporates
trail
riding into the training. Hill Crest Farm strives to continually
gain knowledge of
different and innovative horse training techniques and methods.
One of Jeff's primary training goals is to train well rounded horses
that are
capable of completing most any task that is asked of them. Hill
Crest Farm feels that
every horse, no matter what it is used for, must have a solid
foundation in basic training concepts.
In addition to training,
Hill
Crest Farm also
offers limited
boarding and occasionally has a few horses for sale. Some of the
horses that we have advertised for sale are owned by our clients and
have been or are in training with Hill Crest Farm.
